Here at Drury Lane Farm, our ultimate goal is to provide a healthy, multi-generational enterprise, that honors our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We believe that God has created and designed each living creature to perform a certain task. When we allow each animal or plant to fulfill its God-given design, things flourish and develop in the most amazing way and give us the highest quality food on the market today.
Our sons are the primary care givers on the farm. Jon, who is 18, is our chief designer and builder of all our buildings. He, along with Bob, decide on what is needed and then Jon takes it, creates a plan, draws it out and builds it. Jon is also in the process of adding pastured beef here at the farm.
Jeff, our 15 year old, is our main caretaker of the poultry flock. He feeds, waters, and cares for our broiler chickens and laying hens throughout the day. With the help of Jon, Jeff moves our pastured broilers to fresh grass every day. Jeff gathers the eggs
and moves our layers’ “coop-de-ville” every three to four days so our hens can have fresh grass and bugs to eat which in turn gives us our wonderful eggs. He, along with his father, is considering purchasing some hogs and goats to add to the two goats he has already, and use them to help us clear some more of our land for pasture. This will provide the farm with all natural, pastured pork.
Jeremy, who is 9, helps wherever he can. He is Bob’s main helper whenever they are working around the farm; digging, hauling, picking produce, and helping Bob clear land for pasture. He has become quite efficient at helping Jeff gather eggs, fill water containers, and is learning how to give just the right amount of feed for each flock of chickens.
Jason, now a year and a half, always has a waiting smile for the hard workers when they come in after working and doing chores. He provides much needed joy and love and has been a constant reminder of how good and gracious God is.
Bob works hard at his day job owning a heavy equipment construction company along with his father and brothers. He enjoys the time he has here at the farm with his sons; working the land and watching the animals. The Lord has given him a desire to create a multi-generational enterprise that his children, and his grand- children, and great grand-children can benefit from. He oversees every aspect of the farm and coordinates all the different aspects that make up Drury Lane Farm.
I, the mom, take care of the books, answer e-mails, and do most of the computer work with Jon’s help. However, the best job of mine, is being able to prepare our farm’s wonderful, healthy food for my family. There is never a day that goes by that I am not amazed at how different our food tastes and looks compared to the “best” that is offered in the organic section at the grocery stores. It is comforting to know that I am feeding my family the healthiest food out there and it is a privilege to be able to provide this wonderful food alternative for you – our buyers.
Blessings to each one of you,
The Nice’s ~ Bob, Gina, Jon, Jeff, Jeremy, & Jason
